CAT ON MY MIND

At the heart of the film are several rolls of undeveloped black-and-white photographs that served the director as inspiration. Departing from this found material, she creates a speculative version of the life of the unknown photographer. Over several years, he gives us glimpses into various aspects of his everyday life as a teenager. Sometimes our eyes need a little time to figure out whether we are gazing at an old document or a long, staged shot. An imaginative portrait that is at times experimental and chaotic, at other times characterised by a clear, calm gaze. Consistent throughout is the wonderful homage it renders to analogue photography.
